These peanut butter cups are absolutely delicious. After these, Reese's just don't have any appeal. They are mostly organic and make for a delightful treat. But be careful, they are very addictive and quite fattening!

I never was one of those women that swooned over Paul Newman in his movie days, but I have come to trust his gourmet food products, esp his candy. I have tried several of his organic candy products and this is one of the best. It's not as sweet as Reese's Cups, and a little drier, but I love the chocolate to PNB ratio. It's more of a piece of quality chocolate with a little PNB stuff, rather than the Reeses version of lots of PNB with a light coat of cheap chocolate. The chocolate is smooth and delicious, not too dark or sweet, just right. They are packaged well, 3 smaller cups fitted into a molded plastic tray in a heavy foil lined wrapper. They were packaged so well, in fact, that I recently found 3 pkgs I had bought on clearance (so already a bit aged) and opened them 8 months later and they were still good. So delicious, actually, that I decided to write this review. If you are expecting an organic version of Reeses's PNB Cups, you will be disappointed, but Newman's definitely tops the charts where 'health-food' candy is concerned (some of which can be kinda nasty), this is the best "healthy" candy I have found so far. Wouldn't mind continuing an official search, though! Really want to try his sweet dark chocolate with orange oil! FYI-I recently read that chocolate is one of those food items that organic is important due to how chocolate is processed. So..chocoholics, go organic!

When I was incarcerated in a Mexican prison, this was the only drink in the joint. We had to fix it with goat's milk and heat it over an open flame in the yard. The taste is awful. It's not pleasing like the thick, hot Chocolate found in Madrid.
Customer Review: A few corrections
I just wanted to correct what some of the other reviews are saying: A. It's not an "acquired" taste, that kids will probably not like: I grew up with Ibarra, it was a once in a blue moon treat. I loved it as a kid and preferred it to Swiss Miss or Nestle or any other hot chocolate. B. Although I'm sure you can make Ibarra hot chocolate with a blender I have never once seen someone make it like that. It's really simple: Take two wedges and melt them in a cup or so of milk (any kind) or water and just whisk it or use a wooden spoon. Ibarra is may favorite hot chocolate. I've introduced others to it and they've never had a bad thing to say!
